First Steps at HiJiffy: A sneak peek into our Onboarding
There's an undeniable excitement in starting a new job - thanks to your skills, experience, and cultural fit you proved to be the best person to fill the role and a whole new chapter in your career. In a way, it should feel celebratory.
But there's also a lot to take in - meeting dozens of people, learning about the product/service, exploring new tools, or finding your rhythm within your new team. While still exciting, the onboarding process is also intense.
At HiJiffy, we support you throughout the process to make sure it never gets overwhelming and you remain feeling comfortable. From learning about your needs and consulting you on choosing the best laptop for you, to arranging a welcome lunch for you to get to know the team, to giving you plenty of space to review and process all the information from the onboarding sessions - we have your back.
The agenda we put together for your first week helps you to learn more not only about various aspects of HiJiffy, but also how your role and your team fit in a bigger picture. We value transparency, and it is essential that everyone understands how each team contributes to our growth, how we all work together towards shared goals and nurture the work environment we all appreciate.

Apart from my own experiences, over time I heard testimonials from colleagues and friends, but nothing compares to the first week at HiJiffy; the trip was booked in advance, according to my preferences, I stayed in a hotel with a wonderful breakfast (thank you, Inês), we were welcomed in the new office by the friendliness of Marta, we were given a HiJiffy starter kit and all the necessary material to work was made available, the plan of the week was well outlined and involved all departments, which allowed us to have an idea of how each one contributes to the growth of the company.
We had the opportunity to attend a meeting with the founders, in which they answered the most varied questions, where we could see that there is really an interest in the well-being of each one and that transparency reigns. It was also in this first week that I had the first 'New Sprint Planning' in which I was assigned the first tasks and had the first contacts with the product.
In short, I couldn't be happier to be in such a welcoming, hardworking and organised team. I share with you the same desire, to make HiJiffy grow!

My first week at HiJiffy was intense but very rewarding! Not only did we get introduced to all the different areas and teams within the company on our onboarding sessions, but we also got very lucky to have our Quarterly Meeting happen in the middle of the week as well, which meant getting to meet everyone face to face right from the get go. It’s not every day you get to join a new company and immediately go on a boat ride with your team!
As onboardings go, it was great having such a deep overview of our teams, what they do and how they work. And the pizza lunch was also a plus! 🍕

My experience in the HiJiffy onboarding process exceeded all my expectations. On the week before my first day I got a super welcoming email from Marta from HR who was really welcoming and gave me an extensive/helpful guide to my first week. A call from Tiago, our CEO, to welcome us was also really appreciated and a surprising touch.Besides that, I was lucky enough to join HiJiffy during a Quarterly Meeting week, so I had a chance to meet 90%+ of the team, who were all super approachable, friendly and welcoming. The company presentations from our managers, delicious lunches & dinners, a rooftop party and an incredible boat trip down the Tejo were also helpful and fun icebreakers and an experience which I am extremely grateful for. The first few weeks here have been great! I'm really excited to be part of this dynamic and energetic team. The onboarding process has been smooth and informative, allowing me to quickly get into the swing of things while having the space to get used to the product.
In my first week, I had the opportunity to meet many amazing colleagues, both from my own team and other areas of HiJiffy, during the onboarding meetings. This helped me understand the company culture and have a comprehensive overview of how it is structured. Also made me feel welcomed right from the start.

The integration process went exceptionally well. From the very first day, there was a warm welcome from the team, who made every effort to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
